PRODUCTIVITY PONDER
Mood:
energetic
Now Playing: PRODUCTIVITY PONDER
From the year 1 A.D. of the Gregorian calendar to year 1650 A.D. the world’s population grew from 180 million people to 560 million people. The productivity growth per person was 0.09% annually from 1 A.D. to 1650 A.D. That means that a person improved the work product year over year. Today’s productivity in the USA is about 4%, over 400 times the growth of pre-technology era. The global product produced grew at a 0.07% rate in the same era. Today’s Global growth of products is in the area of 4-5% annual growth (about 400 times the growth of pre-tech era). Since 1650 our growth rate and productivity rate has grown so exponentially. It is staggering to think we could not fly or drive more than 100 years ago, let alone turn on a light or use a telephone electronically. We have improved our lives dramatically.
There is speculation as to this staggering improvement of mankind. I believe on single invention was the driving factor of this growth… THE PRINTING PRESS.. Before the press we used written recordings and they were burdensome. Opinions flourished, inventions recorded, lessons written and taught. Mankind was touched with KNOWLEDGE. Now we face the new WEB 2.0. The new Information Superhighway. Where will this technology lead us??? Where is your future?? It is easy to get lost in all the information. Be productive and find your niche in the growing world of information.

JAILHOUSE MOUSE
Mood:
blue
Now Playing: By C. Payne Jr.
I awoke one night and saw him
As he crept beneath my door,
Then he ran into my box
Where my food was kept and stored.
Well, my friend I tell you this,
I don’t mind if he crosses my toes,
But that mouse committed felony
When he got into my Oreos.
I chased him around my cell
Until I caught him in my fist.
Then I saw the funniest thing
And loosened up my grip.
I could not believe my eyes
At the wonder that I saw,
A small pair of Harley wings
Were tattooed upon his paw.
He said, “Go ahead, Mr.Covict,
And end my life of hell,
But before you do, please listen,
To this tale I have to tell.
I was born a jailhouse mouse.
In a hole in Soledad,
I never knew my mother.
Nor did I know my dad.
I’ve been in every prison
From level one to level five,
And had to live off fuckin’ crumbs
Just to stay alive.
As for these Harley wings, Well, that’s another tale,
I earned ‘em up in Folsom, In a rowdy biker’s cell.
So go ahead, Mr.Convict, And end my life of hell,
So I won’t have to run at night, Stealin’ from cell to cell”.
Well, my friend, I tell you this, I got soft and set him free,
Then he went outside my cell, And flipped the bird at me.
He said, “Check this out, you lame,
You bought my weakest drag,
You got to be the biggest punk,
And I bet you’re on the rag.
The next time that you see me
Is when you make your commissary draw.
I’ll beat you down, then take your shit
With my little tattooed paw
So, now we know that you’re a punk.
I’ve got nothin’ else left to say”.
Then he flipped me off one more time.
And turned and strolled away.

Immigration Issue???
Mood:
loud
Now Playing: Read and think!
Sorry to my devoted fan (myself) for not bloggin for so long. Many blogable topics have crossed my environs. But Immigration issue is pulling at my strings (Read Chain.)
Let's make it a felony to be an Illegal or assist/harbor an Illegal?
For all you suckers out there who are beyond the affordability Index for homeownership (78% of Californians). Think of a dirt garden because you'd look like a criminal with a lush lawn and blooming flowers can I raid your garden? Future Cellie?
For all you suckers who break the water limit lawns on car washing don't worry, you'll have a nice cell-mate who takes his guzzler to the drive-thru car wash where all the Americans ("North" of course) work.
To all you construction superintendents who pick up from the "spot". Just know there's a bed waiting for you in a crowded jail with shit for food. Don't get sick in these conditions, because the medical care is third world for superpower price.
For you suckers who like to go out for dinner every day of the week, plan to have your rights read to you for "helping" an Illegal or expect to pay for all those "Sniveling Mfg workers" who will be washing your dishes or picketing for a 5% raise. Thank God for outsourcing!! Who else would wash our dishes?
Just one more sucker slap for all you paranoid closet racist. Send your children to the fields to pick your fruit and veggies. The alternative of course is to pay a premium for your lettuce. After the gas is factored in, your head should be 100% higher in mark-up.
P.S. Sorry to the separated families. Sorry for the Korean(North v. South) and German(East vs. West)syndrome U.S. is forcing on you.

Now Playing: Minority-owned business growth outspaces avarage - By Paul Chavez from the Associated Press
Los Angeles- The number of business owned by Asians, Hispanics, blacks and women grew much faster over a recent five-year period than the overall number of businesses, according to the U.S. Census Bureau data released Thursday.
Figures from the "2002 Survey of Business Owners" were particularly dramatic in California, which had more business owned by women, Hispanics and Asian than any other state.
Despite the rapid growth by nonwhite business owners, experts said a significant gender and racial gap persists nationwide along with a disparity in receipts and payroll.
The data show the overall number of U.S. businesses increased by 10% to nearly 23 million firms from 1997 to 2002.
Black-owned businesses jumped 45% over that period to 1.2 million, while Hispanic-owned companies increased 31% to 1.6 million.
The number of women-owned businesses increased 20% to 6.5 million and Asian-owned firms grew by 24% to 1.1 million.
Businesses owned by Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders bounded 67% to 32,299.
In comparison, the number of white-owned businesses increased 8% to 19.9 million.
The Census Bureau counts Hispanics as an ethnic group that can belong to any race.
One new Hispanic businesses owner is Rafael Cardenas. The Mexican immigrant started "El Golfero", a line of golf wear aimed at Hispanic golfers, as well as a Web Design firm. Cardenas, who operates out of his East Los Angeles home, uses half of his family's dining room table as an office.
He said his biggest hurdles have been overcoming his bad credit and raising capital.
"My parents never owned a business, and I didn't have a business mentality", he said.
"It takes a lot more effort. I have friends whose parents had businesses and it was easier for them to slip into it".
Cardenas,33, a former musician and actor, said he wanted to become an entrepreneur while working for Barrio Planners Inc. which aids aspiring business owners in the East Los Angeles area.
He said he won't abandon his dream of owning his own business and plans to sponsor East L.A. golf teams once his brand is established.
Paul M. Ong, a policy analyst at the UCLA School of Public Affairs, lauded the growth numbers among nonwhite business owners but said many are mom-and-pop stores that struggle with low receipts and payrolls.
"The big question is how to move up to the next level and have a bigger operation or more than one establishment", Ong said.
He pointed out, for example, that the average receipt for female-owned businesses were only a quarter of that for male owned businesses.

Roe Vs. Wade!!!!
Mood:
loud
Now we are facing a new Supreme Court with President Bush's evangelical supporters. The president has stated his intention of overturning the "Settled" precedent of Roe Vs. Wade. This is law for you. Ever shifting and changing .
The conservative Christians are majority in this country. Why do they attempt to force their views on the rest of us?
Are these Christians and Pro-life constituents so senile they've forgotten the Pre 1973 Roe Vs. Wade decision. The horror stories of Public hospitals filled with botched back door abortions. Women suffering and dying. Other women forced to bear children into a home not ready for them. Is it constitutional for the moral majority to take our rights?
I am personally against abortion. However, I don't think I should dictate a women's right to life. A right to decide on family, career, politics or religion.
Some convicts argue life starts at ejaculation. It's a way to protest the oppression of men in every aspect of society. So, will the right to life protest his flushing a night's romance down the toilet?
Maybe if we passed laws rehabilitating men in prison into fathers and family men can we give women freedom to make more sacred choice of conception. Men could carry the burden of fatherhood with honor. Some statisticians argue the reason the crime rate is lowering is because of women's right to chose.
A boy born in Pre Roe vs. Wade 1972 would be 33 now.
About the average age of the state prisoner. If that precedent was reversed, we could see a rise in crime in 15 to 20 years. Statistically?
Don't let your personal views on a religious topic or a sacred topic push you to force them down the throats of others.
That's why we are fighting a war with Jihadists.
That's why there's racism.
That's why we have the constitution.
The battle's just begun.
There's numerous states challenging the pro choice laws with subtle variations on how a woman would "chose". It's what the Republicans want for our country. More unplanned pregnancies coming to conception with not family structures, no plan for the future.
I am certain a great percentage of those would be mom's don't even know what a 529 Account or Coverdale Account is!
I would hate to see the establishment(Republican controlled government)use this to fill the new prison they plan to build and "staff". The "staff" who will continue to influence the Legislature into more harsh criminal laws. On the administrative law side we see a huge shift from rehabilitation. Another tactic??
Stay tuned for a radical "Rogue" view.

NAACP CALLS FOR POLICE REFORMS IN REPORT
Sacramento- Civil rights leaders Friday called for monthly psychological evaluations for police officers statewide and standardized collection of racial profiling data in a report aimed at curbing police brutality.
The report, released by the California National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, comes out of a March hearing with community leaders and civil rights groups following the death of 13-year-old Devin Brown, who was shot by police after allegedly crashing a stolen car into a police car in South Los Angeles.
California NAACP President Alice Huffman said abuse of power among California police was widespread and persistent.
"The African-American community and other communities of color are fed up with the continuous killings and beatings of youth and law-abiding citizens by rogue law enforcement practices," she said at a news conference.
The report, which reviews 10 years of alleged misconduct resulting in the death of minorities in California, concludes the deaths are the result of a number of causes, including a persistent climate of hate, stereotypes, and a "see black, think criminal" mentality among officers.
The report calls on lawmakers to revive racial-profiling legislation that would mandate statewide, standardized data collection on all traffic stops. Gov.Gray Davis vetoed a similar bill in 1999, contending that racial profiling was not a statewide problem.
Since then, several police departments have begun logging information about traffic stops.
A federal order requires the Los Angeles Police Department to record and publicly post the perceived ethnicity of all pedestrians and motorists stopped by officers.
Under the terms of a 2003 legal settlement, California Highway Patrol officers must collect data on all stops.
Sacramento Police Department spokeswoman Michelle Lazark said officers there have been collecting information for more than two years, and warned that the data don't tell the whole story.
"If you work in an area where the demographics are largely of a certain race, your stops are going to be mostly of that race,[the data] will be skewed in that area," she said.
Huffman said the problem was that the information wasn't standardized and wasn't being analyzed at the state level.
The report blames poor screening of new recruits for the "bad apples" responsible for abuse. It recommends mandatory, monthly psychological evaluation of all police officers.
Police representatives said Friday that they would not comment on recommendations until they could review the full report.

STUDY REJECTS INCARCERATION, CRIME RATE TIE
There may be no direct link between the rising prison population and a decade-long decline in crime,a new study suggests. A review by the Sentencing Project, which promotes alternatives to incarceration, found that declining crime rates in states with higher-than-average prison population were virtually the same as those in states where the number of prisoners remained stable or declined. The nation's incarceration rate rose from 411 inmates per 100,000 U.S.residents in 1995 to 468 at the end of last year, an 18% increase, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, a research arm of the Justice Department. The Sentencing Project attributed much of the decline in crime to a growing economy, the fall of the crack cocaine market and improved policing strategies.

CONVICTED RAPIST FREED IN FL AFTER DNA TEST
A convicted serial rapist who spent 26 years in a Florida prison was released on Wednesday after DNA evidence cleared him in two of the attacks and cast doubt on whether he was responsible for any of the crimes."Victory",Luis Diaz, 67, said as he walked out of the courthouse in Miami.
Circuit Judge Christina Pereya-Shuminer threw out the five rape convictions at the request of prosecutors and lawyers for the Innocence Project, a non-profit group that works to get inmates exonerated via DNA testing. In their dismissal report, prosecutors stopped short of declaring Diaz innocent but cited difficulty in retrying him after a quarter-century.
Diaz, who is married with three children, was convicted in 1980 ans sentenced to life in prison for seven of 25 sexual assaults that occurred between 1977 and 1979 in the Bird Road area of Coral Gables. Two of the convictions were overturned in 1993 when the victims recanted their identification of Diaz.

Okay, So I got some criticism form my Katrina Criminal's entry. Let me strengthen my opinion on the subject of crime in the disaster wake. I did see many instances of looting and the police responding when they could. Why does the media continue to epitomize the Big Easy's residents as all bad?
Take the cruel example of people trying to escape tragedy of Katrina's devastation at Crescent City Crossing. This is a bridge from New Orleans into a small town called GRETNA (Population 17,500; 35% Black folks; Predominately white) There were women, children and broken men trying to cross that bridge days after the hurricane. Police met the folks on foot crossing with shotguns and loud speakers.
The police fired rounds to "intimidate" these Americans fleeing for safety. Yelling for them to get off the bridge. I watched this report on 60 Minutes and lost my cool.
I was on my knees that night asking God: "Why"?
When I pray, I don't ask for forgiveness often, but please God of Abraham forgive my thoughts then!!!
These citizens of this great nation slept on a bridge, tormented by police. Labeled as criminals as threat, a danger to this "Holier than thou" town.
I wonder how many of them work for FEMA or other relief agencies who will get the job by purchasing for this emergency. The people who were found to have charged entertainment equipment, jewelery, music and other non-relief merchandise.
People from all walks will take advantage. Look at Jimmy Baker, Jerry Falwell, and even ex-President Nixon. We are Americans. Not Perfect!!!! Yet :-)
P.S.:Chief Police of Gretna lobbied the city counsel on new law no entry to non-residents
Thanks Chief Lawson
Peace Out
S.
Happy New Year to everyone by the way!
